Job summary

Kanawha Valley Veterinary Emergency Hospital is seeking compassionate RVTs and Veterinary Assistants to join the triage team in our emergency hospital. You will quickly evaluate patients, alert veterinarians to urgent cases, provide stabilizing treatments as assigned, and help manage triage flow for efficient care.

Part-time and full-time positions are available, with opportunities to advance and develop skills in a fast-paced, client-centered setting.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician credentials (RVT).
• Ability to communicate clearly and politely with co-workers and clients.
• Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment.
• Compassion for animals and their humans.
• Ability to work in a cooperative, team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Triage all patients arriving at the emergency hospital.
• Monitor patient vital signs and acquire diagnostic samples.
• Review estimates and treatment plans with clients.
• Operate in-house laboratory equipment.
• Administer outpatient treatments and review discharge instructions with clients.
• Keep accurate patient records.
