Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Animal Emergency Center in Memphis, Tennessee seeks a Veterinary Technician to join our team, delivering dedicated patient care and exceptional service in a high-volume emergency setting.

The role involves assisting with examinations, surgeries, and maintaining medical records while working a schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays. A sign-on bonus up to $1,000 is available based on experience.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age or older
• Must have a TN Veterinary Technician License
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary assistant/technician

Responsibilities

• Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews, review care plans and records, complete lab tests, and diagnostic imaging.
• Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, vaccines, and wound care.
• Assist with exams and operations by assembling supplies, moving patients, and restraining as directed by the veterinarian.
• Provide patient care using knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, equipment use, and drug administration.
• Maintain medical records by documenting conditions, reactions, and changes; update the database.
