Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Maryland seeks an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team. You will engage in triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing while delivering gold-standard, compassionate care to pets and their families.

You’ll work closely with doctors and VEG teammates, with opportunities for growth, mentorship, and ongoing ER CE.

Qualifications

• AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred.
• CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT credential in state VEG practice required.
• 1+ year experience as a veterinary technician; emergency experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and urgent veterinary care under supervision.
• Assist doctors in triage, treatments, anesthesia, monitoring and critical care nursing.
• Administer medications, monitoring, and IV therapies; perform CPR as needed.
• Assist with diagnostics, imaging, sample collection and tubing placement.
• Communicate clearly with team and pet parents to ensure compassionate care.
