Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Skokie, IL is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our busy ER and Critical Care team. You will work alongside talented veterinary professionals to provide high-quality urgent care.

The role involves anesthesia induction and monitoring, triage, radiography, vital signs interpretation, CPR, phlebotomy, IV catheterization, feeding tube placement, and mentoring colleagues.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician with anesthesia experience preferred.
• Emergency/critical care experience is a plus.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced ER.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia using monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals (temp, HR, resp rate, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Initiate CPR and manage airway and circulation during emergencies.
• Phlebotomy and placement of IV catheters.
