Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Lafayette, CO is seeking experienced Relief Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. Schedule is flexible (days, evenings, overnights, swing) with pay of $22.15–$44.91 per hour, based on experience and Kahuna leveling.

Night/weekend shift differentials apply with 4-hour minimums. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will induce, monitor and recover anesthesia, triage emergencies, perform digital radiography and manage vital

Qualifications

• As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will assist in anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery.
• You will triage emergencies and monitor vitals to support rapid decision making.
• You will perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• You will understand normal vital ranges and alert the Veterinarian as needed.
• You will obtain blood pressure and other vitals and respond to changes.
• You will assist with CPR in arrest scenarios.
• You will handle medications administration and IV access when needed.
• You will place feeding tubes and central lines as required.
• You will mentor colleagues and address client concerns with empathy.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients using monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergencies and monitor vitals such as HR, RR, temperature, BP.
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Interpret vitals and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Administer medications and manage IV catheters.
• Place feeding tubes and central lines as needed.
• Mentor co-workers and provide client empathy.
