Job summary

Purdue University’s Veterinary Hospital Emergency/Critical Care section seeks an experienced credentialed veterinary technician to join the Supervisory Team in West Lafayette, IN. The role includes leadership, recruiting, training, and on‑call duties, while mentoring veterinary technicians and students across the hospital environment.

The ideal candidate has advanced nursing skills, leadership experience, and a passion for teaching in a multispecialty academic setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA Accredited Veterinary Technology Program
• 3 years of experience as a credentialed technician in a specialty hospital or veterinary teaching hospital
• Must become RVT in Indiana within 12 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Recruiting, interviewing and training staff and students
• Schedule creation and maintenance for the ECC Supervisory Team
• Annual team performance reviews and disciplinary actions
• Work clinical floor shifts according to hospital needs
• Provide on-call coverage as needed and mentor learners
