Job summary

PetVet Care Centers in Springfield, VA seeks a Veterinary Technician (Day Shift) to join our emergency-oriented Regional Veterinary Referral Center. You will provide patient care, assist with examinations, surgery, nursing care, and maintain medical records, all while delivering compassionate service to pets and clients.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician with strong ER skills and client communication.
• Experience with radiology, phlebotomy, and in-house lab work.
• Comfortable managing hospitalized and potentially critical patients.

Responsibilities

• Determine animal requirements by examinations, records review, and imaging.
• Care for patients: vitals, samples, meds, vaccines, wounds.
• Assist with examinations and operations; secure supplies and instruments.
• Maintain medical records and document patient conditions and changes.
• Communicate with owners about patient status as directed by the vet.
• Ensure clean rooms, proper sterilization, and equipment maintenance.
• Fill prescriptions and document controlled substances securely.
• Perform duties to uphold a safe and humane hospital environment.
