Job summary

Charleston Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC) within Ethos Veterinary Health in Charleston, SC is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician Assistant for our Emergency team. Three 12-hour shifts—days, swing, or overnight—offer hands-on patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in veterinary medicine preferred.
• General practice, emergency, or specialty veterinary experience preferred.
• Understanding of basic veterinary medicine and patient care.
• Veterinary restraint experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to work in a fast-paced emergency environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Remain calm and respond appropriately during urgent situations.
• Motivated to continue developing veterinary technical skills.
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on patient care and support Veterinary Technicians and doctors in the Emergency department.
• Safely restrain and handle patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Assist with patient intake, monitoring, treatments, and daily care.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Assist with emergency and critical care patients as directed by the medical team.
• Maintain clean, organized patient care and treatment areas.
• Communicate effectively with Veterinary Technicians, doctors, clients, and other team members.
• Follow hospital protocols and maintain attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
