Job summary

PetVet Care Centers’ Carolina Veterinary Specialists - Matthews is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician/Assistant for the 2nd shift. The role supports hospital operations with dedicated veterinary care, patient assessment, triage, and nursing duties for emergency patients.

Position offers full-time hours with a 2nd shift, competitive pay starting at $25+/hr for technicians and $22+/hr for assistants, and a sign-on bonus up to $1,000 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in General Practice, Emergency, Specialty, or Urgent Care veterinary settings.
• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification preferred.
• Willingness to rotate shifts and participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by exams, triage, nursing care, and diagnostic procedures.
• Assist veterinarians during exams and surgical procedures; prepare and dispense medications.
• Maintain accurate medical records and client communication.
• Monitor and support patients in the Emergency Department and ICU as needed.
