Emergency Veterinary & Specialty Services of Roanoke is seeking veterinary assistants to join a 24/7 ER team in Roanoke. Roles include night/weekend/holiday work, handling a diverse caseload, and opportunities for hands-on training and career growth.

Qualifications

• 1+ year veterinary assistant or technician experience required
• Must be 18 years or older
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
• Excellent customer service and clear communication
• Knowledge of preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
• Ability to restrain pets calmly and safely
• Proficient in collecting and processing lab samples and tests
• Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
• Proficiency in anesthesia and surgical monitoring

Responsibilities

• Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients
• Collection and analysis of lab samples
• Diagnostic imaging and radiography
• Nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases
• Administration of medications and treatment plans with clients
• Surgical preparation and assistance
• Anesthetic management and monitoring
• Maintain hospital efficiency and respond to feedback
