Job summary

Bellevue Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Hospital is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support our emergency and critical care teams. You will assist veterinarians and licensed technicians, prepare treatment areas, perform triage, and help with procedures while upholding our values of respect, learning, and WOW service.

The role requires a high school diploma, NAVTA-approved program preferred, 1–2 years of emergency experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and strong client

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program preferred.
• 1–2 years of emergency/critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians with emergency procedures and medical care.
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and supplies.
• Perform triage, history taking, basic nursing care, and patient discharges.
• Take vital signs, administer medications, and perform basic lab tests.
• Communicate with clients to provide status updates and discharge instructions.
• Follow hospital protocols and maintain high standards of care.
