Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Florida is looking for a per diem Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced ERs. You will support the team, welcome pet parents, assist with treatments, and learn alongside credentialed technicians and veterinarians.

From triage to recovery, you’ll gain hands-on experience with anesthesia prep, IV management, and diagnostics, and pursue pathways to credentialed technician roles. Training is provided and growth is encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• AVMA-accredited veterinary tech program a plus.
• Emergency or companion-animal care experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Greet pet parents and triage patients as they arrive.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Support anesthesia setup and monitoring with licensed clinicians.
• Prepare IV lines, fluids, and medications.
• Collaborate with technicians and veterinarians for patient care.
