Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) seeks an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to support a fast-paced ER team from day one, greet clients, and assist with treatments and diagnostics. You’ll work alongside licensed clinicians and technicians to provide compassionate care for pets in urgent need.

We emphasize growth through training pathways, with opportunities to advance to anesthesia support, ultrasound, or other advanced roles. VEG offers comprehensive benefits and a dynamic learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrollment in AVMA-accredited vet tech program is a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and EMR software knowledge.
• Excellent communicator with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Triage and welcome patients and guide them to care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics (bloodwork, imaging).
• Support anesthesia and sedation setup with vets and techs.
• Set up IV fluids, blood products, and meds.
• Support care in outpatient or inpatient settings.
