Qualifications

• CPR certification and animal handling skills are preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities are essential.

Responsabilités

• Treat each patient and customer with compassion and high-quality care.
• Perform basic to intermediate nursing care tasks and patient monitoring.
• Triage incoming patients using vital signs and clinical cues.
• Administer subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications; monitor for adverse effects.
• Set up, monitor, and administer IV fluid therapy and transfusions.
• Collaborate with the nursing team on both outpatient and inpatient care.
• Participate in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care.
• Be trained to perform CPR as RECOVER Certified Rescuer.
• Collect samples and perform in-house and point-of-care diagnostic tests.
• Assist in anesthesia setup and monitoring under supervision.
• Place and maintain urinary catheters and oxygen delivery devices.
• Support oxygen cage setup and troubleshooting.
• Work alongside licensed veterinary technicians as a vital team member.
• Pursue guided growth pathways including credentialing, trainer, outreach, and leadership.
• Veterinary Assistants may perform advanced anesthesia and vascular access under law.
• Engage in ultrasound, paracentesis, and other advanced diagnostics.
• Contribute to care plans and nursing strategies.
• Seek additional training with roles in coordination and leadership.
