Job summary

Crown North America, a Safe Fleet Brand, is hiring full-time Automotive Installers for day shift (6:00am to 2:30pm) in Hammond, IN. You will install equipment to convert brand-new vehicles into police and emergency units, reading electrical schematics and performing demanding physical tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience working with automotive electrical systems.
• Experience working with automotive mechanical systems.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Constructive team player.
• Detail-oriented and focused on quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Install equipment to modify brand-new police and emergency vehicles.
• Route and install wire harnesses, controllers, partitions, auxiliary batteries, light bars and more.
• Disassemble and reassemble factory vehicles.
• Read electrical drawings, including schematics with limited help.
• Work in an industrial environment with heavy physical duties.
• Overtime may be required.
• Maintain shop and work bay cleanliness.
• Work independently and contribute ideas to the company.
• Supply own basic tools; time to purchase after hire if required.
