Job summary

Crown North America, a Safe Fleet Brand, is seeking a full-time Automotive Installer for the Day Shift in Hammond, IN (East Chicago Area). The role involves installing equipment for police and emergency vehicles, reading electrical schematics, and working in a fast-paced environment.

OT may be required; strong attention to detail is essential. Candidates should have experience with automotive electrical and mechanical systems and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience working with automotive electrical systems.
• Experience with automotive mechanical systems.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Detail-oriented and focused on quality workmanship.
• Constructive team player.

Responsibilities

• Install equipment to modify brand-new vehicles into police and emergency vehicles; route and install wire harnesses, controllers, etc.
• Disassemble and reassemble factory vehicles.
• Read electrical schematics and drawings.
• Work in an industrial environment with regular standing, bending, and kneeling.
• Overtime may be required; occasional fieldwork.
• Maintain shop and work bay cleanliness; work independently and contribute ideas.
