Job summary

Dana Safety Supply in Edmond, OK is seeking an Emergency Vehicle Technician to install and maintain police, fire, EMS fleet equipment and related electronics. This role ensures vehicles stay operational, compliant, and ready for duty.

You will work with wiring, lighting, radios, GPS, and data systems, performing diagnostics, maintenance, and documentation to support public safety operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with automotive electrical systems and emergency vehicle upfitting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure emergency vehicle equipment, including warning lights, sirens, radios, antennas, cameras, docking stations, and related components.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and electronic issues affecting vehicle operations and emergency equipment functionality.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections to ensure vehicle readiness and compliance with standards.
• Read wiring diagrams, technical manuals and installation instructions.
• Test and verify functionality of emergency lighting, radios, GPS systems, and other mission-critical equipment.
• Coordinate with fleet managers and agencies to resolve technical issues.
