Job summary

Kerr Industries, a Safe Fleet company, is hiring for an Automotive Upfitter in Arlington, TX. The role covers converting brand-new vehicles into police and emergency units on a day shift from 6:00am to 2:30pm, with responsibilities spanning wiring, mounting, and system installations.

The position requires automotive electrical/mechanical experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; overtime and fieldwork may be required.

• Experience working with automotive electrical systems.
• Experience working with automotive mechanical systems.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Install equipment to convert new vehicles into police and emergency vehicles.
• Disassemble and reassemble factory vehicles as needed.
• Read electrical schematics and drawings with limited help.
• Work in an industrial setting with physical duties.
• Occasional fieldwork and varying hours; some overtime may be required.
• Maintain records, seek improvements, and contribute ideas to the company.
