Job summary

The City of Frisco seeks a Public Safety Equipment Technician I to provide initial troubleshooting and resolution of Police Emergency Equipment systems, including Motorola 800 MHz radio end-user gear and in-vehicle equipment. You will deliver telephone help desk support and on-site training to help users operate emergency equipment effectively.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; EVT L-1 within 1 year.
  • Experience/training with police vehicle emergency systems preferred.
  • Must pass background checks and possess TX driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up, installs, upgrades, maintains, troubleshoots, and modifies emergency equipment for patrol vehicles.
  • Provides end-user support and on-site training for MDC, in-car video, and lighting systems.
  • Repairs hardware and software failures; upgrades and configures operating systems.
  • Documents changes and researches new hardware to improve department equipment.
  • May work evenings/weekends and provide on-call support.
