Job summary

City of North Richland Hills, Texas, is seeking a technician to perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on the Police Department’s vehicle fleet and equipment. The role includes inspecting, repairing, and coordinating installation of radios, mobile video systems, and other in-vehicle electronics.

You will maintain comprehensive service records, monitor repair status, and coordinate with Fleet Services for transport to scheduled or warranty work.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of post-secondary technical or vocational training beyond high school.
• One year of experience in law enforcement in Technical Services, Detention Services, Fleet Maintenance or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor unscheduled repairs on the Police Department’s vehicle fleet.
• Inspect, maintain, repair, and install radios, mobile video systems, and other in-vehicle electronics.
• Maintain maintenance documentation: job orders, parts and labor records, and resources used.
• Coordinate with the City Fleet Services Department to transport vehicles for scheduled repairs, warranty work, or specialized services.
