Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of suturing and suture removal, dressing application, and splinting.
• Skill in CPR and EKGs.
• BLS Required.
• Skill in preparing wounds for treatment, set up and assisting with special procedures such as incision and drainage of infected areas.
• Ability to assist nursing staff with routine patient care.
• Ability to perform as a team member and provide professional staff support to physicians and nurses.
• Ability to function effectively with patients.
• Ability to lift, push, pull.

Responsibilities

• The Emergency Trauma Techs perform basic patient care skills and assist nurses in transporting patients.
• Assist in set up of equipment for procedures and provide direct patient care in trauma and emergency situations.
• Provide knowledge and direct experience with orthopedic injuries and splint placement.
• Collect specimens, perform EKGs and finger stick blood sugar checks.
