Job summary

Riverside Health System is seeking an Emergency Technician to support physicians and registered nurses in the Emergency Department. You will perform EKGs, IVs, phlebotomy, and other urgent patient-care tasks under supervision to ensure timely, quality care.

Under the guidance of the ED physician and charge nurse, you will help assess patients, document accurately, and assist with throughput. EMT certification, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and Virginia licensure will be required upon hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EMT or Paramedic training preferred.
• 1 year EMT experience (PRN) required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates assessment ability by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population served.
• Recognizes and responds to variances of patient care/condition and notifies physician and team using SBAR when applicable.
• Completes clinical documentation per RHS standards.
• Facilitates patient throughput and responds to patient needs in a timely manner.
• Maintains a safe patient care environment per RHS policies and regulatory requirements.

Education

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training

Paramedic training (preferred)
