Job summary

Riverside Health System is seeking an Emergency Technician in Williamsburg, VA. You will assist physicians and RNs in the emergency department with invasive and non-invasive procedures, EKGs, IVs, and phlebotomy, under supervision of the RN and ED physician.

You will collect data, support patient care across ages, and be prepared to fill in as monitor tech as needed. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, EMT certification (NREMT or VDHP advanced/intermediate/paramedic) and CPR/BLS,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EMT certification (NREMT Advanced/Intermediate/Paramedic or VDHP Advanced/Intermediate/Paramedic) required to start employment.
• CPR/BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required to start or within 180 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Apply standards of practice to assess patient conditions in the ED.
• Recognize care variances and notify the physician using SBAR when appropriate.
• Complete clinical documentation accurately per RHS standards.
• Support patient throughput and respond to needs with urgency.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care.
• Fill in as monitor tech when needed.

Education
