Job summary

County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health seeks a Supply Officer I to manage comprehensive supply and related operations in a large department during emergency conditions. Under an emergency order, appointments may initially last up to 90 days, with potential for permanent County employment.

Responsibilities include directing procurement, warehousing, and distribution of supplies, equipment, and services, and ensuring accurate inventories and reporting.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in procurement of supplies, equipment, and services at the level of Procurement Assistant I or higher.
• Valid California Class C Driver License or ability to utilize an alternative transportation method for job-related duties.
• Physical Class 2 – Light with possible light lifting; basic mobility as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, directs, and evaluates work of subordinate staff.
• Directs routine and emergency procurement of supplies, equipment and services, and related documents and reports.
• Directs storage and distribution of supplies and maintenance of optimum inventory levels.
• Coordinates procurement and supply activities with departmental accounting operations, central processing, and vendors.
• Screens or supervises requests for supplies and evaluates consumption patterns.
• Directs preparation of specifications for complex equipment to meet operating unit needs.
