Job summary

Roof Above is seeking a Shelter Shift Supervisor in Charlotte, NC to coordinate and supervise daily shelter operations and ensure guest needs are met. The role collaborates across teams to maintain safe, orderly shelter coverage and supports access control at the low-barrier shelter.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of supervision experience preferred.
• Two years’ experience supporting people experiencing homelessness preferred.
• Certification in HMIS within 30 days of hire.
• CPR, AED, first aid, and naloxone training within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with HMIS systems and handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations and emergency response protocols.
• Onboard and train shelter specialists.
• Coordinate posts such as access control and meal service.
• Maintain secure mail handling and sorting.
• Document incident reports in HMIS/RA system daily.
• Ensure shift summaries are completed and distributed.
• Act as primary crisis intervention coordinator.
• Support maintenance of the chore list and daily duties.
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Operate agency van when required.
