Job summary

Project Renewal is seeking a Residential Aide for the Empire Hotel Men's Shelter in New York. This role involves assisting in the day-to-day operations of a shelter that supports men with substance abuse histories. Responsibilities include managing client intake, maintaining records, and providing personal care and assistance.

The ideal candidate must have a High School diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a supportive environment. Experience in a substance abuse services setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.

• Able to work cooperatively with peers and other staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operations of a shelter for men with substance abuse problems.
• Manage client intake and daily census records.
• Distribute mail and assists clients with personal care items.
• Conduct detailed incident reporting regarding clients.

Skills

Ability to effectively role-model socially appropriate behavior

Excellent oral, writing, and listening skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Bilingual in Spanish or Polish
