Job summary

Lifepoint Health Martinsville is seeking an Emergency Services Technician to perform administrative and clerical duties while monitoring patient telemetry in a full-time, in-person capacity at our Martinsville, VA facility.

Minimum education includes a high school diploma; EMT Intermediate preferred and CNA licensure or eligibility; BLS required. You will greet patients, route calls, assist RNs and physicians, and monitor telemetry for arrhythmias.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduated from EMT Intermediate program preferred.
• CNA licensure, or CNA eligible.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors; answers and routes telephone calls.
• Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
• Enter nursing requests with nurse approval.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges; maintain patient records and charts.
• Perform clerical tasks and stocking supplies.
• Assist RNs and physicians with patient activities.
• Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identify arrhythmias and signs of distress; intervene as needed.
• Report abnormal telemetry findings to nursing staff.
• Test equipment for proper working order; report issues to supervisor.
• Other tasks as assigned.
