Job summary

Harris Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an ED Tech for our Emergency Department. The PRN position includes varied shifts, days, nights, weekends and holidays, supporting patient care in a fast-paced environment.

You will work under RNs, monitor vitals, assist with daily activities, and help maintain clean, stocked rooms. AHA BLS certification and NC CNA listing are required, with a high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Ability to think critically and make quick decisions.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision in a high-stress setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
• Monitor vital signs and potentially collect glucose measurements; record intake and output.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient comfort.
• Report changes in patient conditions to nursing staff and keep rooms stocked and orderly.

Join our team in our 14-bed Emergency Department with a 5:1 ratio. Our diverse staff includes RNs, CNAs, Paramedics, Secretaries, and Providers, creating a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional care. Known for our wide variety of patient experiences, including Abdominal pain, and shortness of breath, we also take pride in our chest pain accreditation. With an average daily volume between 50-70 patients, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality emergency medical care while working alongside a dedicated team in a fast-paced setting.

How You'll Contribute

• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.

What We're Looking For

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Licenses: Current Listing as a Certified Nursing Assistant with the state of North Carolina Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property in a facility that provides Nursing Care.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
