Job summary

Ottumwa Regional Health Center is seeking an Emergency Services Technician to join our ED team on a PRN basis. You will deliver direct patient care using the nursing process, assist with daily living activities, and document care while monitoring patient conditions for the care team.

Applicants should have recent ED experience, with BLS certification within 30 days of hire, and preferably CNA, EMT, or Medical Assistant background.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in an Emergency Department
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire
• CNA, EMT, or Medical Assistant experience preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process.
• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care across transfers, discharges, referrals.
