Job summary

Saint Mary’s Regional Health System, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an Emergency Services Technician for the Russellville, AR area. The role covers evening shifts and varied weekend scheduling, focusing on patient care and coordination in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, assisting with admissions, maintaining records, monitoring telemetry, and supporting RNs and physicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• License as CNA/EMT/Paramedic preferred.
• BLS certification is required or preferred.
• Experience in hospital or emergency settings is assets.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors, screens and routes calls, and communicates with staff.
• Enters nursing requests with nurse approval and seeks clarification as needed.
• Assists with admissions, transfers and discharges; maintains patient records.
• Performs clerical tasks including filing, copying and stocking supplies.
• Assists RNs and physicians with patient activities as needed.
• Monitors multiple patient monitors and responds to events.
• Identifies arrhythmias or distress and notifies nursing staff.
• Reports abnormal findings and equipment issues to supervisor.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

How You'll Contribute

• Greets patients and visitors. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls. Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
• Enters nursing requests subject to the approval of a licensed nurse. Asks for clarification when necessary.
• Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assembles and maintains patient records and charts.
• Performs needed clerical tasks, including copying, filing, and ordering/stocking supplies.
• Assists RNs and physicians with other patient activities as needed.
• Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports on equipment problems to supervisor.
• Other tasks that may be assigned.

What We're Looking For

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Licenses: Certified Nursing Assistant / EMT / Paramedic, Preferred

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Minimum Work Experience: One (1) year of experience preferred.
