Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Clinton, IN is seeking an Emergency Services Officer to join the on-site Emergency Services team. You will deliver asset protection, life safety, and emergency response, including fire mitigation, HazMat response, and medical services.

You will lead primary incident responses, maintain life safety systems, manage access control, and develop training scenarios for the Emergency Response Team. Overtime and night shifts are possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Active FF I/II, Hazmat Awareness/Ops, and EMT-B certifications.
• Proficiency in emergency medical and firefighting tactics.
• Strong decision-making under high-stress conditions.

Your Role: Emergency Services Officer / Security Officer

As an Emergency Services Officer, you will be part of the Clinton Labs Emergency Services team to deliver asset protection, life safety, and emergency response, advancing site safety through fire mitigation, hazardous materials response, and medical services.

Responsibilities:

• Provide primary response to fires, spills, rescues, and medical incidents under an incident command structure.
• Maintain and inspect life safety and fire protection systems; ensure emergency response equipment and vehicles are mission-ready.
• Manage site asset protection through perimeter checks, surveillance, and access control; serve as interface for visitors and contractors.
• Develop and deliver emergency response training scenarios as a subject matter expert for the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
• Execute administrative and safety duties including process hazard reviews, weather monitoring, and maintenance of confidential site documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Participation on an emergency response team (Fire Brigade/Hazmat) with active FF I/II, Hazmat Awareness/Ops, and EMT-B certifications.
• Skills: Proficiency in emergency medical and firefighting tactics; strong decision-making and problem-solving under high-stress conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated leadership ability within emergency response or another professional capacity.
• Qualified to serve as Incident Commander within a site incident command system.
• State of Indiana Hazardous Materials Technician or IFSAC Hazmat Technician; Confine space and Ropes operations (or must obtain within 2 years of accepting job offer).

Additional Information:

• Location: Clinton, IN (on-site manufacturing environment)
• Overtime may be required
• 12-hour night shift (4:30pm–4:45am)
