Job summary

Riverside Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Services Unit in Smithfield, VA. You will assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe transitions and high-quality outcomes.

You will educate patients/families, document education and care activities, and supervise support staff. Weekend shifts and APRN collaborations may occur as part of the role.

Qualifications

• RN degree: BSN preferred or ADN; nursing diploma accepted with RN licensure; HS diploma required if nursing diploma graduate.
• 1 year related experience preferred.
• Licenses: RN in VA or compact; CPR/BLS; ACLS; PALS; TNCC/ENPC optional.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs and develop a plan of care.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and ensure safe transitions.
• Educate patients and families and document education and outcomes.
• Delegate tasks and supervise non-professional staff to maintain care quality.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain required documentation.
