Job summary

Riverside Smithfield Hospital in Smithfield, Virginia, seeks a registered nurse for the Emergency Services Unit. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (minimum education), HS diploma/GED if Nursing Diploma.
• 1 year related experience preferred.
• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state; CPR/BLS; ACLS; PALS; TNCC; ENPC as specified.

The RN may work in a variety of settings in the Emergency Services Complex and roles within Riverside Health System. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of the specific patient populations served in the Emergency Services units/departments. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.What you will doDemonstrates ability to assess patient clinical ands psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population served in the Emergency Services Unit/Department.
