Job summary

Dayton Children's is seeking an Emergency Services Paramedic to join the Respiratory Transport Services team on the Main Campus. This full-time role involves delivering basic patient care, comfort measures, and maintaining a safe patient environment in the hospital's emergency department or during intra-facility transfers.

You will work under physician or RN direction, comply with Ohio Public Safety Rule, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support critically ill or injured children

Qualifications

• HSD/GED required.
• Ohio Paramedic Certification required.
• CPR/BLS required.
• PALS preferred at hire, but required within four weeks of hire.
• ACLS preferred at hire, but required within four weeks of hire.
• EVOC preferred at time of hire, but required within two weeks of hire.
• Must have valid Ohio driver’s license, be at least 21 years old, and meet eligibility for hospital insurance.

Responsibilities

• The Emergency Services Paramedic delivers basic patient care and comfort measures.
• Renders care under the direction of a physician or registered nurse in the hospital’s emergency department or during patient transfer.
• Performs duties within the Respiratory Transport Services team and adheres to Ohio Public Safety Rule.

Job Details:

The Emergency Services Paramedic delivers basic patient care, provides comfort measures, maintains patient care environment, and reports patient responses to the appropriate licensed staff member. The Emergency Services Paramedic is a member of the collaborative practice team and renders care in accordance with the Ohio Public Safety Rule; the Paramedic may perform emergency medical services only under the direction and supervision of a physician or registered nurse designated by a physician and only in the hospital's emergency department or while moving a patient between the emergency department and another department.
