Job summary

StoneSprings Hospital Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an experienced Emergency Services Paramedic to monitor patients, document EKGs, manage I/O, and support CQI initiatives in our busy ED.

Qualified candidates must complete a Paramedic training course, hold Virginia EMT-Paramedic and be current in BLS, PALS, CPI, and ACLS within 90 days; ER experience and 3 years field work preferred. We offer comprehensive benefits and a competitive hourly wage in Virginia.

• Keep patients informed of their treatment plan when appropriate.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• You will monitor patients for arrhythmias, document EKG strips, and report findings to licensed nurse assigned to patient.
• You will measure and record patient’s input and output.
• You will stock/check ED supplies and equipment.
• You will participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) projects.
• You will, as appropriate, keep patients informed of their treatment plan.

What qualifications you will need:

• Successful completion of a Paramedic training course.
• Certification: Must have and maintain a Virginia Division of EMS EMT-Paramedic certification. BLS, PALS, CPI, and ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Previous ER or comparable experience required.
• 3 years field experience as a certified EMT-Paramedic preferred.
• Ability to maintain a mature, professional manner and demonstrate sound judgment when interacting with patients, physicians, hospital personnel and the public.
