Job summary

You will monitor for arrhythmias, document EKGs, measure inputs/outputs, stock ED supplies, and participate in CQI projects while keeping patients informed of their treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Paramedic training course.
• Virginia EMT-Paramedic certification; BLS, PALS, CPI, and ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• ER or comparable experience required.
• 3 years field experience as a certified EMT-Paramedic preferred.
• Ability to maintain a mature, professional manner and sound judgment with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients for arrhythmias, document EKG strips, and report findings to the licensed nurse.
• Measure and record patient inputs and outputs.
• Stock and check ED supplies and equipment.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) projects.
• Inform patients of their treatment plan as appropriate.

• You will monitor patients for arrhythmias, document EKG strips, and report findings to licensed nurse assigned to patient.
• You will measure and record patient’s input and output.
• You will stock/check ED supplies and equipment.
• You will participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) projects.
• You will, as appropriate, keep patients informed of their treatment plan.

What qualifications you will need

• Successful completion of a Paramedic training course.
• Certification: Must have and maintain a Virginia Division of EMS EMT-Paramedic certification. BLS, PALS, CPI, and ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Previous ER or comparable experience required.
• 3 years field experience as a certified EMT-Paramedic preferred.
• Ability to maintain a mature, professional manner and demonstrate sound judgment when interacting with patients, physicians, hospital personnel and the public.
