Job summary

City Of Walla Walla is seeking a dedicated Emergency Services Dispatcher to handle incoming ambulance, fire, and law enforcement calls. You will interrogate callers, dispatch units, and monitor radio frequencies to ensure responder safety and rapid response.

The role requires calm under pressure, strong typing skills, and experience with CAD systems. The position may require working a 24/7 shift in a high‑stress environment and involves ongoing training, public information tasks, and potential

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of emergency services dispatching experience preferred.
• Must have WA State Public Safety Telecommunicator and ACCESS certifications.
• First Aid/CPR certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Receive and control emergency and non‑emergency calls; determine priority and dispatch units.
• Maintain CAD log and radio contact with field units.
• Enter incident information into CAD and law enforcement networks.
• Provide Emergency Medical Dispatch instructions by phone.
• Perform typing and general clerical tasks as needed.
