Job summary

Hudson Regional Health is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to support patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role includes equipment cleaning, stocking and patient transport, as well as monitoring heart rhythms and notifying the nurse of any changes.

The position requires EMT or CNA certification, BLS‑AHA, and a high school diploma, with opportunities to advance in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, basic patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
• Carry out care and cleaning of equipment, stocking supplies, and transport of patients and equipment; monitor central station monitors and rhythm strips, notifying the RN of rhythm changes.
• Perform venipuncture, finger stick, or heel stick for blood specimen collection.

What You'll Be Doing

• To provide direct, basic patient care under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse.
• To provide care and cleaning of specific equipment, stocking of supplies and equipment, and the transportation of patients, supplies and equipment. In addition, the ER Tech monitors the central station monitors, interprets the cardiac rhythms, documents rhythm strips every shift and more frequently when needed and notifies the Registered Nurse of any rhythm changes.
• Performs all blood specimen collection for Emergency Room patients by venipuncture, finger stick or heel stick according to policy.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification OR Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
• Relevant experience (preferred)
• BLS-AHA required
