Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, WA seeks an Emergency Room Technician to support ER operations under the Charge Nurse. Responsibilities include patient care assistance, room preparation, and timely entry of physician orders during night shifts.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, and LPN/MA/CNA training or active related field work. WA state credentials and BLS are preferred; on-call and shift premiums apply as part of the SEIU 1199 contract.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent required.
• LPN, MA or CNA training required.
• Active/volunteer paramedic, EMT, LPN, or CNA type field work preferred.
• One of the following Washington State Licensures/Certifications is required: Nursing Assistant – Certified OR Nursing Assistant – Registered OR Medical Assistant – Registered OR Medical Assistant – Certified OR MA-EMT.

Responsibilities

• Support the efficient operation of emergency room services under the direction of the Charge Nurse.
• Provide timely data entry of physician/mid-level orders and assist with room preparation.
• Assist with patient care under supervision of the Supervisor, Charge Nurse, staff nurse or Emergency Services provider.
• Handle contact with patients in a wide variety of circumstances and adapt to emergencies.

Assists with patient care under the direction of the Supervisor, Charge Nurse, staff nurse or Emergency Services provider and within the scope of practice appropriate to the ERT’s training, experience and certification/licensure. Has contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances. Is subject to varying and unpredictable situations involving emergency crises or situations.
