Job summary

CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska, is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the ED. You will perform delegated tasks from RNs or physicians, assist with transport and clerical duties, and help maintain a safe, efficient unit.

Qualifications include High School Diploma or GED, CPR certification, and Nebraska CNA credentials. Daily duties include vital signs, patient monitoring, and EDTB updates to improve patient flow.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients, family, physicians and staff in a courteous, professional manner.
• Support department operations and contribute to a safe and efficient Emergency Department environment.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Emergency Room Tech, you will support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department, performing delegated functions from the RN or Physician.

Every day you will conduct selected diagnostics and procedures, assist with patient transport and lifting, and provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit.

To be successful in this role you will effectively execute delegated tasks, support unit operations, and contribute to a safe and efficient environment.

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by the RN and Medical Staff. Monitors and records vital signs, observes patients' physical, mental, and emotional condition and reports any changes to the nursing or medical staff
• Provides indirect patient care. Escorting patient to the exam room. Performs and documents general therapeutic/diagnostic measures. Acts as transporter. Assists with updating the Emergency Department Tracking Board/Care Manager (EDTB)
• Acts as unit clerk; Utilizes hospital information systems according to the hospital policy. Discharges patients and enters charges for patients in a timely matter. Utilizes the EDTB to improve patient flow. Performs order data entry as assigned by the nurse or physician
• Communicates with patients, family, physicians, other departments, unit personnel, and peers in an accurate, courteous and professional manner
• Demonstrates a commitment to patients, nursing staff, and Emergency Department in accordance with the team performance expectations

Pay Range

$15.67 - $22.14 /hour
