Job summary

CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska, is seeking an ER Nurse to be the first touchpoint for community health emergencies. You will work within our Emergency Services team delivering rapid triage and stabilizing care across all ages.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate teamwork, professionalism and critical thinking, with a commitment to compassionate, culturally sensitive patient care and to maintaining patient dignity throughout the care journey.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Current RN license that allows practice in the state.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association.
• NIHSS within 3 months of hire.
• ACLS within 5 months of hire.
• PALS within 5 months of hire.
• NRP within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC within 12 months of hire.
• ENPC within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Use emergency triage protocol to intake, discharge or admit patients.
• Deliver stabilizing care to emergency patients of all ages as part of the ER team, adapting care to changes in patient’s condition.
• Document the nursing care plan and changes in the patient's condition with sensitivity to cultural values.
• Engage in activities that benefit patient outcomes, such as patient experience initiatives, mentoring, etc

• Graduate of a nursing program
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) required within 3 months of hire
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required within 5 months of hire
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 5 months of hire
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required within 6 months of hire
• TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) required within 12 months of hire
• ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 18 months of hire.
