Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in San Diego is seeking an On-Call ED Tech to support physicians and nurses in examination, treatment and emergency procedures. You will assist with splints, wounds, CPR and EKGs, and help coordinate patient movement and instrument processing.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, an anatomy course within 3 years or recent EMT/ED experience, and relevant certifications such as EMT and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• An anatomy course completed within the last 3 years or recent EMT/ED tech experience.
• EMT Certification or Kaiser Permanente equivalent preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses with examinations, treatment, and procedures.
• Provide support in the ER, including positioning patients for diagnostics and minor surgical procedures.
• Apply splints and assist with orthopedic devices under physician instructions.
• Take vital signs, transport patients, and answer incoming calls.
• Maintain clean work areas and coordinate instrument cleaning and processing.
