The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The RN also guides patient and family teaching and supervises other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. The RN is directly responsible and accountable for care given to patients in the Emergency Department, communicates with physicians about changes in patient condition, diagnostic results, and symptoms, and responds quickly and accurately to changes. Knowledge of EMTALA regulations and reporting of abuse is required. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
