Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the department's specific requirements, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

  • Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Responds promptly to patient requests, strives to anticipate needs, and resolves them proactively.
  • Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for clarity.
  • Educates on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy lifestyle choices, disease prevention, and self-management preparation.
Qualifications Needed:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Educational requirements: Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
