Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Health Lancaster Medical Center Emergency Room seeks a Patient Care Technician-Phlebotomist to collect blood samples from patients of all ages and keep the workflow steady under RN supervision.

Education: high school or GED; a phlebotomy certificate is preferred. BLS is required; phlebotomy certification is preferred. 3–12 hour shifts; competitive benefits accompany a career within MUSC Health.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree or GED is required; completion of an Accredited Phlebotomy Certificate Course is preferred.
• BLS certification is required; Phlebotomy certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Access patient requisitions and labels and collect blood samples from patients of all ages in a timely manner.
• Verify records and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis; may prick finger to draw blood.
• Perform duties under supervision of a Registered Nurse and other related tasks as trained.
