Job summary

Grand Lake Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Emergency Services with clinical and clerical duties. The role includes assisting with patient care activities under RN supervision and performing routine workplace tasks to ensure smooth unit operations.

The ideal candidate has basic clinical and clerical skills, ECG and blood collection training, and at least one year of healthcare setting experience. A higher degree or certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete a course in basic ECG and EKG setup.
• Must successfully complete blood collection training.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in a health care setting (physician office, hospital or clinic).
• Two years or more of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delegated patient care activities including activities of daily living and basic procedures.
• Perform clerical and receptionist functions as directed by RN.
• Monitor and record cardiac rhythms on monitoring equipment and report abnormalities to RN staff.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide quality care and outcomes.
• Work other shifts/units as needed.
