Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patients with activities of daily living, personal care, and vital sign measurements. The role includes helping with hygiene, mobility, and patient education, while maintaining clean rooms and accurate records.

The ideal candidate will perform ECG testing (12-lead) and routine venipuncture, follow safety protocols, and assist with clerical tasks and inventory management as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as Nurse Aide I or with the applicable state Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development for the patient population served.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients with activities of daily living.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene.
• Takes vital signs and height/weight measurements.
• Feeds and ambulates patients according to specific procedures.
• Maintains patient rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
• Observes and reports changes in patient conditions.
• Orients patients/families to unit and safety procedures.
• Assists with clerical work such as answering phones, data entry and maintaining medical records.
• Maintains stock supply items in inventory management.
• Performs duties outlined in Nurse Aide I/II tasks per state guidelines.
• Performs ECG testing (12-Lead) and routine venipuncture.
