Job summary

Foothill Regional Medical Center in Tustin, CA is seeking a dedicated LVN for our Emergency Department. You will administer medications, assist with exams and emergencies, monitor patient status, and document care in the EMR with compassion and efficiency.

The role requires active CA LVN licensure, BLS, and the ability to obtain IV certification within 12 months. Onsite work, flexible shifts, and a supportive ED team are offered.

Qualifications

• Current, active California LVN license.
• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to obtain IV Certification within 12 months of hire.
• Experience in acute care or emergency department preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments within LVN scope of practice and hospital policies.
• Assist with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and emergency interventions.
• Monitor and report changes in patient conditions, taking appropriate action and documenting observations.
• Perform basic IV management when appropriately certified.
• Utilize aseptic and infection prevention techniques during treatments and procedures.
• Support patient care through specimen collection, wound care, dressing changes, and other clinical procedures.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, hygiene, comfort measures, and mobility needs.
• Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to patients and families during stressful situations.
• Ensure patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment.
• Accurately obtain and document vital signs and patient assessments.
• Record treatments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record.
• Assist with patient transportation and coordination of care activities.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation to support continuity of care.
