Northwestern Medicine seeks an Emergency Department Assistant to support RPNs and ED physicians with direct and indirect patient care. The role spans wound care, ECGs, phlebotomy, vitals, and patient transport within a fast-paced ED, under supervision.

The ED team focuses on patient safety, rapid assessment, and efficient throughput. Required are a high school diploma, CPR certification, and prior patient care experience with strong communication.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous patient care experience required with effective communication.
• CPR certification from American Heart Association.
• Phlebotomy and ECG skills preferred.
• EMT-B certification helpful.

Responsabilités

• Follows established policies, procedures and standards of care in all areas of practice.
• Facilitates coordination of patient flow, assists health care team, and independently performs duties.
• Plans, organizes, and prioritizes daily activities and multiple tasks.
• Demonstrates familiarity with ED specific protocols and equipment.
• Gives and receives shift report.
• Performs phlebotomy, ECGs, wound care and vital signs as directed.
