Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Emergency Department in a night-shift, 36 hours per week, with holiday rotation and weekend commitments. Starting pay includes BSN $35.50/hr or non‑BSN $34.00/hr, plus a $2 night differential and a $2 off‑shift differential, plus a $15,000 sign‑on bonus and up to $15,000 in loan repayment.

The role emphasizes direct patient care, medication administration, patient and family education, and leadership within the nursing team.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in the United States.
• At least 6 months RN experience.
• Orientation must be completed.
• Future graduate nurses may apply up to one year before graduation.
• Night shift eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care using nursing protocols; administer medications and IV therapy.
• Assess and reassess patient and family needs every eight hours or as needed.
• Plan and coordinate care with patients, families, and community agencies.
• Engage in team discussions and use Bed Management System, Alpha, and CPOE.
